What it tests



assesses range of motion of the neck in flexion, extension, rotation and bending

How to do it



ask the subject to flex and extend (‘yes!’) rotate (‘no!’) and bend ("I’m a little tea pot") the neck. Another way to ask them to bend the neck to the side is to say "touch your ear to your shoulder".
