Answer – 2
A type III AC joint injury involves disruption of both the AC ligament and CC ligament complex with superior clavicular displacement approximately equal to the diameter of the distal clavicle. Although treatment remains controversial, the literature currently supports the initial nonsurgical treatment of most patients with type III injuries. Nonsurgical management consists of brief immobilization followed by gradual return to activity.
