Answer (click for answer)
Correct Answer: 3
Meniscal injury is a common finding in both acute and chronic ACL tears, and nearly 50% of these tears are repairable. A popliteus injury would be in the posterolateral corner of the knee. An osteochondral injury would not require access to the posterior compartment. The ligament of Wrisberg is a meniscofemoral ligament associated with the PCL and the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus. A loose body is a possible answer, but the most common reason to look in the posterior compartment in to evaluate for meniscal root injuries.
